Runecraft Spellboost is a Runecraft deck that revolves around the Spellboost mechanic, which scales the spells in your hand up as the game goes on. This deck is designed to be able to build up into massive bombs by the end of the game, while controlling the boardstate through efficient removal.
This deck is a midrange-combo deck, aiming to play threats out and keep pressure up while building up your combo in your hand, before unleashing it at a point where your opponent simply cannot deal with it effectively. However, outside of Spellboost, the rest of your deck will be ways to be able to draw extra cards to break parity and get closer to that goal.
Spellboost is an incredibly powerful deck with a mix of an uninteractable mechanic (in Spellboost), game ending threats and a powerful midrange strategy that can also build up enough pressure to win games alone, and is definitely worth considering if you're wanting a versatile deck; even though it is one of the pricier decks in the game.
Runecraft Spellboost Deck
With Runecraft Spellboost, you want to be able to stall the board for long enough to be able to play out one of your endgame bombs; either a Kuon, Fivefold Master or Dimension Climb. However, in the meantime, cards like Blaze Destroyer and Runeblade Conductor are aggressive enough to be able to keep pressure up to get there, by being both large and easy to cast with spellboost.
Ms. Miranda, Adored Academic, Dazzling Runeknight and Anne & Grea, Mysterian Duo all let you spellboost your whole hand, meaning that you can grow your hand rather than singular cards. These are great in the mid game, as they provide both value and pressure, making them versatile in their functions.
The other half of the deck is card draw and selection like Leah, Bellringer Angel and Ruby, Greedy Cherub, as well as Homework Time! which is both a powerful Spellboost payoff and two cards back, meaning that you end up way ahead on card advantage. With this, don't be afraid to mulligan away your power cards to try to draw more early-game cards, as you'll generally be able to get them back. But, don't do so with Dimension Climb, as it scales throughout the game.
Metagame Analysis
Building Runecraft Spellboost can be a nightmare, as it does contain up to nine legendaries to build, but it gives you access to a powerful deck that can do a lot of damage on the ladder. Its worst matchups do tend to be Dragoncraft Ramp and Swordcraft Zoo, which can be quite aggressive, and Portalcraft Hybrid which is able to deal with your midgame while also having its own potent endgame threat.
You do, however still have a decent matchup into all of these decks, though, as you can present a fairly uninteractable win if you can go long enough. If you're able to play your cards right and stall long enough, you'll be able to present a win against any deck, and that inevitability and raw power is what makes Runecraft Spellboost so potent.
