As we slowly progress towards the second set of the game, there isn't much left to say about the metagame for Legends Rise. Then, a new Tier List would mean much, while looking for off-meta, exotic builds could teach us a few things about different ways to play or build certain classes.
We scanned social media and Discord to find decks shared by players who reached the highest rank: Master, while also being part of the highest MMR group: Diamond. Obviously, we left out the refined builds already shared in other articles. The goal is to offer a different perspective, and maybe a list that would more suited to one's play style or collection.
No 10174130? No problem!
The Portalcraft hybrid deck is widely regarded as the top build in the game, mostly thanks to an unmatched flexibility through picking the appropriate artifact to any sort of situation. However, that deck requires to possess all the class' legendary cards, something not every player can do.
Fortunately, Portalcraft is one of the few classes in the game able to play two different decks. Looking at the results from various players, the Puppet synergy can also climb to the highest rank in the game.
Aggro makes a comeback
As time passes and decks get refined, Runecraft and Portalcraft have slowly established themselves as the top tier duo in the game. In order to get an edge, either in the mirror match, or against one another, both lists have become a bit greedier over time. For example, Runecraft has welcomed 10104120 in most lists, while most Portalcraft players don't like 10173210 to help with board cleaning duties.
In that context, Swordcraft Aggro has a shot at punishing both decks, who forgot about aggressive match-ups and might give way too much space early on.
Dragoncraft Aggro also posted some results this week, but there were many more Swordcraft decks to look at.
Runecraft makes sure to lock down the board
In order to have a shot against aggressive decks, every Runecraft deck is packing two to three copies of 10132310. However, the card can be dead in hand in certain slow matchups, such as Havencraft or the mirror match.
To give it more value, and justify running three copies as a staple inclusion, some players are now using 10132310 instead of a second 2-cost follower in the deck alongside 10132110. It takes up a slot on the board, which can be annoying at time, but opens for an AoE with 10132310 which can be very useful against Swordcraft in particular.
Havencraft is looking for win conditions
Arguably the best defensive class in the game, Havencraft struggles to be a menace due to its lack of finishing maneuvers. Against Runecraft especially, the matchup feels hopeless, as 10104120 often gives the opponent inevitability.
I'm not sure if 10162120 is the answer, but the card has replaced 10163120 in some lists in order to help make the deck a little more threatening.
Forestcraft climbs on a budget
Every card game needs a budget deck able to post results to give newcomers an option if they want to play ranked matches immediately. In Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond, that deck is the Forestcraft Fairy deck, and it has never been cheaper.
Indeed, multiple players have managed to reach the game's highest rank and group with only two copies of 10104110, a neutral legendary you can play in many classes. Cheap does not mean easy to pick up however, as Forescraft is one of the hardest classes to play at first. The combo oriented play patterns and the lack of Ward followers make the deck both difficult to pilot, and quite fragile against aggressive strategies.
Still, if you are just getting started in your journey, crafting two 10104110 won't be lost, and you will have access to a competitive build right away.
Every class can climb
Abysscraft has been labelled the worst class in the game early on in this first set, due to its hybrid play style which doesn't fully contain an aggressive opponent, nor manages to rush a slower one.
Yet, it seems like the class can still perform well in expert hands.
Unfortunately, I don't have a super spicy deck to share that would explain that success. This is just a regular Abysscraft deck, so it seems the pilot is the key element to find success with the class.
