Swordcraft Aggro Knights Deck Guide

Swordcraft Aggro is an aggressively-tuned deck that wants you to win the game before your opponent even has a chance. Find out how here.

Swordcraft Aggro is an aggressive Swordcraft deck that aims to win the game as quickly as possible, through aggressively statted followers with Storm or Rush. With this, you're able to storm the board as quickly as possible, pummeling opponents before they even have time to react.

The key strength of Swordcraft Aggro is being able to take out some of the top meta decks, like Portalcraft Hybrid and Runecraft Spellboost, before they can get to the higher-end of their gameplan. Due to their relative lack of defensive capabilities, and Swordcraft's easy access to Storm, they'll often be at a low life total by the time they've even began to make headway in the game, at which point you can hit them without opposition.

Swordcraft Aggro is generally one of the most all-out aggro decks in the game, aiming to win the game as quickly as possible (and faltering when it isn't possible). So, while the metagame is slower and more value oriented, this deck can really make headway.

Swordcraft Aggro is a very aggressively oriented deck, looking to take advantage of the fact that Swordcraft has access to Storm. Storm is a great mechanic, as it allows you to kill out of nowhere, which is a luxury in Worlds Beyond. With this, you can whittle your opponent down with ease using storm cards like Flashstep Quickblader and Military Dog, before ending the game with a well timed Albert, Levin Stormsaber.

Alongside this, you've got great removal in cards like Valse, Silent Sniper, who can also act as an attacking threat, and board-wide buffs in Zirconia, Ironcrown Ward and Luminous Lancer of Valor, both of which make your aggressive threats more potent ant lightning-fast.

With this, you have an aggressive deck that can outpace the rest of the format and sneak wins out of nowhere. However, the biggest issue with Swordcraft Aggro is the double edged sword of complexity and luck. If you draw a hand that requires more thought than the 1-2-3 nature of a high-roll draw, the deck's skill floor dramatically increases and it feels as though you're constantly on the back foot.

So, to be able to combat this, you need to make sure that you've got the fundamentals of Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond down. Things like knowing when to take out a follower rather than attack face, how to use your resources as well as possible, and also how to get back into a game once your opponent has gained the upper hand are essential to succeeding with this deck.

Metagame Analysis

In the current metagame, Swordcraft Aggro is a strong anti-meta deck that can go toe to toe with two of the best decks in the format, Portalcraft Hybrid and Runecraft Spellboost. Against Hybrid, the matchup is slightly worse than other Portalcraft decks, but it's a 50/50 on whether they highroll or not (which is the best you can ask for with such a potent and dominant deck).

However, against the rest of the metagame, Swordcraft Aggro is incredibly middling as it just doesn't have the endgame threat that you need to beat other decks. More all-in control decks like Havencraft can control the game and trap you under the weakness of your own cards, while decks like Forestcraft Fairy can control the aggression while taking the game quickly enough that you can't really get back in once they've done so.

Ultimately, if you're looking for a way to catch out Portalcraft and Runecraft, Swordcraft is a great tool in your arsenal. However, otherwise, Swordcraft can feel a bit weak currently without enough cards to truly be able to push through grindier decks.
