Runecraft is a magical class centered around two core synergies : Spellboost and Earth Rites. When playing the class, our primary goal will be to unlock our cards' full power through either synergy. Then, a typical game with a Runecraft deck will start a little slow, with mostly support cards early on, preparing for an explosive later stage, with our payoff cards ready to take over the match.
At the moment, Runecraft tends to focus more on the Dirt Rune synergy than on Spellboost. The main reason is consistency: Dirt Rune is far more reliable, while also having more favorable matchups than Spellboost in a wide and diverse meta.
With Blossoming Fate, a new archetype has emerged: Fool Rune. The deck first gained attention after a 10-match exhibition between two Chinese content creators. This particular list performs well in slow matchups, such as Portalcraft Eggs or Cocytus Spellboost, but struggles against highly pressuring decks like most Swordcraft builds or Dragoncraft Evolve.
Runecraft Spellboost Cocytus
The Earth Rites are great to anchor the early to mid-portion of a match. 10231110 and 10433310 build our Earth Sigils bank, and represent our default plays apart from drawing cards. 10133130 acts as our first reactive tool, wrestling the board in our favor as we head towards the mid-game, and start switching to our Spellboost synergy. Last, Norman, Adamant Alchemist acts as a Swiss Army knife atop that curve. We can use it for pressure through summoning two 90031120, or support to help us stay safe while we Spellboost our cards.
Once in the late game, Spellboost cards shine through their sheer power and ability to scale over time, turning Runecraft into one of the scariest classes once it reaches 10 play points.
Runecraft Dirt Rune
This is the second consecutive set where Dirt Rune has taken the lead over Spellboost Cocytus as Runecraft’s top archetype, this time without relying on any new cards, but rather by fine-tuning ratios based on player preference.
The current direction of the deck focuses on 10334120 and its deck-thinning effect, allowing you to generate a massive stack of Earth Sigils. This setup enables 10234110 to stick on the board and create a strong advantage against many of the current meta decks.
Runecraft Fool
A new and intriguing archetype centered around 10534110, a card designed to gradually reduce your opponent’s maximum Defense Points until they reach zero, or at least a low enough threshold to be finished off by cards like 10304120.
At the moment, it’s hard to say whether this deck will stand the test of time. The list is still very new and likely needs refinement. For example, I’ve already seen some players include 10134110 to accelerate the win condition and close games earlier.
No Legendary Runecraft Deck
Without its key Legendaries, Runecraft quickly becomes one of the weaker classes overall. Among the available options, Dirt Rune suffers the least from this limitation. Its ability to contest the board and apply pressure still makes it a viable budget choice, leaning toward a midrange, aggressive playstyle.
